Arriving in Dubai

Most international flights arrive at Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the busiest in the world. Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) serves mostly cargo and some passenger flights, offering an alternative entry point.

Currency

The local currency is the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED). Credit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are readily available across the city.

The Weather

Dubai has a hot desert climate. Summers (April to October) are extremely hot and humid, while winters (November to March) are warm and more comfortable for outdoor activities.

Wi-Fi in Dubai

Free Wi-Fi is available in most public areas, shopping malls, and restaurants. Look for “@WiFi UAE” for free or premium services.

Dubai hosts numerous foreign embassies and consulates. Check your country’s foreign affairs website for the exact location and contact information in Dubai.

If you're planning a visit to Dubai, there are various types of tourist visas to accommodate different travel needs, depending on your eligibility:

  1. A single entry tourist visa, valid for 30 days or 60 days
  2. A multiple-entry tourist visa, valid for 30 days or 60 days
  3. A multiple-entry long-term tourist visa, valid for five years
  4. A transit visa, one for 48 hours and another for 96 hours
  5. Visa on arrival, either for 30 days or 90 days contingent on nationality
  6. Visa on arrival for Indians who have a visit visa issued by the USA, or a green card issued by the USA, or a residence visa issued by the UK or the EU.
  7. eVisa for residents of GCC countries (GCC citizens are eligible for visa-free entry). 

Visa Application

Apply for a visa through the UAE embassy in your country or check if you qualify for visa-on-arrival. E-visa services are also available through official portals.
